Iodine - Vital Mineral

A variety of dietary habits contribute to lack of this important mineral, including diets high in pasta and bread, low salt use, vegetarian diets, excessive cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, or soybeans, not enough fish or sea vegetables. Fluoride and asthma inhalers that contain fluoride or bromide also contribute to low iodine levels1, as well as chlorine ingested with tap water, milk and produce.2
