Vanadium

Blood Sugar and Cholesterol Regulation

Vanadyl Sulfate is a biologically active form of vanadium. Studies show that vanadyl is very effective in normalizing blood sugar levels and controlling conditions such as insulin resistance,
or type II diabetes.1

  • Vanadium is an important trace mineral and helps support normal blood sugar levels.
  • Studies indicate vanadium plays an important part in supporting the body in times of stress.
  • Vanadium mimics the actions of insulin and improves glucose tolerance by restoring receptor sensitivity to insulin.

Prior to the discovery of insulin in 1922, the trace mineral vanadium was used for the control of blood sugar because it can mimic the activity of insulin. Two small studies (one with six, and one with seven type II  diabetic patients) have confirmed the effectiveness of vandyl sulfate at a dose of 100mg/day in improving insulin sensitivity.2 3
