Have you taken your green tea today?
The
recent medical research news has been flooded with the benefits of green tea catechins for the prevention of many different types of cancer. Case in point,
findings of a recent study from John Innes Center in Norwich, England, and the
University of Murcia in Spain, indicate that compounds found in green tea called
EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) behave like the anti-cancer drug methotrexate.
All of flaws in pain killing
medicines have been coming to light recently. The latest news is that with
frequent use, Tylenol (acetaminophen) has been associated with an increased risk
for asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and decreased lung
function.
This information came from a retrospective health survey of more than 13,000
Americans, which when analyzed, researchers found that frequent acetaminophen
users were more likely to have lung disease than those who never or seldom used
it. In contrast, neither ibuprofen or aspirin use was associated with lung
problems in this study.
It
seems Red Yeast Rice is proving to be the best way to dramatically lower
cholesterol without taking drugs.
Red yeast rice has been used in China for
centuries as both a food and as a medicinal substance. It is made by fermenting
a type of yeast called Monascus purpureus over red rice. In Chinese medicine,
Red Yeast Rice is used to promote blood circulation, soothe upset stomach, and
invigorate the function of the spleen (a body organ that destroys old blood
cells and filters foreign substances). In addition, this dietary supplement has
been used for bruised muscles, hangovers, indigestion, and colic in infants.
Recently, it has been discovered that Red Yeast Rice contains substances that
are similar to prescription medications (statins) that lower cholesterol.
