Energy Supplements

Low energy is one of the most common complaints heard in the doctors office. Constant worrying, or dissatisfaction with work or relationships translates into stress that can make you feel tired all of the time. Unless you suspect your tiredness is the result of a health problem or disease, you may find one of these Pain & Stress recommended energy boosters helpful:

Alpha Lipoic Acid - Powerful antioxidant helps prevent post-meal fatigue and improves glucose control.

B-complex vitamins - Increases day-to-day stamina. The B-vitamin family contains diverse members necessary for healthy functioning of almost all body processes, which is why they are “essential” nutrients. The actions of the B vitamins cover everything from energy production in the body, to maintaining blood vessels to hormone metabolism.* Most B vitamins work together and, in many cases, provide the greatest benefit when supplemented together.

Alpha KG - An important component of the Krebs cycle, the chemical engine that generates energy for every cell, giving the body a kick start.

Carnitine - Essential in transporting long chain fatty acids into the cells where fats are converted into energy. Can promote better concentration, properly utilize fatty acids needed for energy production.

Magnesium - one of the most crucial nutrients for ATP energy production (energy storage molecules).

Coenzyme Q10 - Improves heart function and elevates muscle energy levels.

Whichever supplement you choose, keep these energy tips in mind:

Drink water! Staying hydrated is one simple way to avoid fatigue.

Eat small meals several times a day. Food is your energy source and your body needs fuel every four hours or so.

Quit the sugar habit. Snack on fruit, yogurt or carrot sticks. After a week or so, you'll lose your sugar cravings.

Take the stairs. Staying active will keep you mentally alert and help reduce stress.

Play. Doing things you enjoy gives your mind a break and improves mood.

Avoid alcohol, which makes you tired. And it gets in the way of a good night's sleep.
